I
was born in the Northeast of the U.S but now live in New Zealand. I
have many interests such as writing, art, reading and collecting old
books. I also love to study literature and history creating stories with a Christian
perspective with characters that are based on Biblical characters and
Biblical themes. I also love English History and Literature and combining them all together is very exciting when it
comes to writing a new project. The Dressmaker and her Daughters
is based on several Biblical characters including Hannah,
Rebekah, Abigail, David and other supporting characters who shadow
the lives of their Biblical counterparts with similarities and
symbolism.
I also have a keen interest in castles and fond love of horses and dogs and they often appear in my stories in some way or other. Although I have a huge list of books and authors I admire my two very favourite authors are Sir Walter Scott and Jane Austen. Quite a contrast I know but there it is. My favourite books are Ivanhoe and Northanger Abbey. The prior being about the chivalrous knight fighting to save the life of a beautiful lady and the latter about the adventures of young Catherine Morland on her journey to Northanger Abbey.
Most importantly, I love characters that are rich in their faith in God. I love characters that face great obstacles and trials but by putting their faith in Christ our Lord are able to overcome. Most importantly I love writing unto the Lord. God Bless!
